The training is held from 8:00 AM-6:00 PM on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
CRIT supports law enforcement partnerships with mental health, substance use disorder, and community service agencies to improve appropriate and effective responses to individuals in crisis who have behavioral health conditions or intellectual, developmental, or physical disabilities and to achieve safe outcomes for all members of the community.
This is a 30-hour training based on the CRIT curriculum.
Following training, participants should be able to:
Recognize individuals experiencing behavioral health or IDD-related crises in the community
Employ tactics to manage crisis situations
Access local resources, divert individuals away from the CJ system
Ensure the safety of citizens, officers, and the community
Lunch will be provided all three days.
