Explore the impact of community trauma and how to build radical resilience

This workshop is made possible by the town of Eagle.

December 7-10 from 4:00 - 6:00pm each evening with nightly homework assignment.

The goal of this web-based online, interactive training is to understand that without exception, caring for others in varying and multiple capacities within the context of traumatic events and other challenges, impacts all caregivers. These implications can impede our ability to function most capably in our roles at work, in our families and in our communities. The necessity of understanding and developing skills that helps us steer through adversity and increase our resilience is instrumental in navigating this challenging time.

This workshop will:

  • Explore the impact of community trauma in multiple sectors

  • Identify the ripple effects of trauma within the community

  • Determine how leadership is impacted by traumatic events

Participants will be able to recognize:

  • Signs of vicarious trauma and burnout within themselves

  • Identify their compassion satisfaction and compassion fatigue

  • Challenges to self-care

Participants will focus on

  • Purpose and characteristics of radical resilience

  • Identify the 5 conditions necessary to build radical resilience.

  • Assess the value of the 10 radical resilience skills

  • Understand the value of these skills in building radical resilience

  • Determine avenues to practice these skills.
